  1. wow that is a mighty clean chicken coop! you have given me some great ideas
to tidy up mine for this winter. right now i have 3 different perches so
    poop goes pretty much everywhere.
i already use our leftovers for our garden, i agree that it is awesome. but
my dog likes to eat as much of it as she can ewwww haha

caused because i put straw down and the chucks have pounded it down helping
it to rot so i have for the moment moved them to a new run but less room
what can i do to make the muddy run dry could i use sand or gravel?

  4. Why not make another screen and put it under the layer of sawdust? You seem
to go through a lot of steps that you could condense into 2.

  5. could you not use paper underneath them at night and remove it at daylight
or would they eat the paper or use a wire screen under them and let the
poop fall into a bucket or something. just thinking

  7. Even though I don’t keep poultry, I love when people come up with processes
and make stuff so efficient, it’s really nice to watch :)

  8. Just started keeping chickens, and your way is the way l was advised to
keep the coop clean and odour free. After watching your video it just backs
it up. Wood shavings and poop-pick every day is the way to go – literally 5
    mins…but l use neoprene gloves too – easy :)

  9. I like your way of doing it!!! I gave it a try….worked great!! Now, have
any suggestions on cleaning the hog pen out…and PLEASE don’t say “do it
by hand”!! My little pig, (named Bacon), would think I’m “just like him”!
    lololol!! :)

  10. Awesome idea..beautifully clean coop…And… I just love how you handle
all of these people making a big “stink” over you picking up poo with your
hands and how you “handle” it. Really “peeps”…it’s just doo doo…didn’t
ya ever clean a baby’s diaper???

  11. Sand is WAY better… Sift it out with a Kitty litter scoop and viola! You
only remove the poop. The sand lasts so long and you can even wash, dry and
    reuse the sand!

  12. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just place your hardware cloth frame
underneath their sleeping area to catch the falling poop before it reaches
the sawdust. Seems to me you can skip a few steps by taking the frame out
and dumping it on your compost heap. No?
