Hens like to feel secure while laying their eggs. Nest boxes give them that
small bit of security to help them along. We built a nest box from recycled
wood really quickly so they could have one.

that was the quickest build i ever saw,,,good job
i think the chickens wont care what it looks like as long as it
works…..lol. that was a nice looking egg there at the end. we had
chickens when i was a kid and i miss the fresh eggs dont miss the chickens
though…. :)

Looks good! Ya might add a perch on the front, a place for them to land on
then they can step into the box to lay.
