  1. I cant believe your buff orpington only lays 3 eggs week? she must be very old!
my buffs lay an egg every day! an sometime they lay 2 eggs. I have had other breeds but nothing lays as many eggs like orpingtons!

  2. if you want fryer’s fast get white rock hens and a red cornish ruster .you get rock cornish hen’s which are male and females. in 6 week’s you get huge fryer’s if you let them go longer you get huge roster’s.the little one’s you get in the store are only a couple week’s old.

  3. Hey Gary thanks for the post. You are one of the first youtubers that answered a question of mine concerning chickens a while back. I just created a playlist on my channel and this was the first video entry in the list. Hopefully I will start raising chickens in the spring. Have a great Thanksgiving.

  5. Rabbits would be fun. Not sure if I could butcher a chicken or rabbit. How many you thinking about getting? 1 male 3 females to start.

  6. I cut the grass in the spring and fall and put it in the garden, in between I mulch it. The chickens would not be able to keep up with this amount of land. Keep in mind they do not jsut eat grass, but they also dig and scratch for bugs and grit.

just out of curiosity – do you have to cut the grass that the chickens use or do they keep it down for you? thanks brother

  8. I really like the orpingtons, barred rock, and rhode island reds. I’ve never owned a leg horn. Might have to try it sometime. Although I prefer brown egg layers.

  9. that sounds very boring. Fresh backstrap and farm fresh eggs with home made bisquits. I am quite sure that it doesn’t get any better.
