  1. Great video, thank you for sharing! We brought home 6 chicks four weeks ago and are in the process of building their coop. My husband and I have wanted to do this for so many years. I’m only sorry we waited so long!! They have become wonderful much loved pets! I’m absorbing all the information I can on raising them, I want my girls to be happy!!

  2. 🙂 Chickens are great disposal helpers. Mine used to get to eat all of the pests I’d picked out of the garden. They loved nice fat slugs.

  3. They love to eat their shells too. We keep a big bowl in the kitchen sink for the carrot tops, egg shells, cheerios… They love it all.
They do make loud noises when they lay eggs
Yum, yum, mine are happy girls

  4. That’s certainly wise. Having your birds killed by predators is a hard experience to go through. Chickens are worth the trouble though, there is nothing like a fresh from the yard egg.

  5. We plan on getting chickens very very soon. Just getting the area ready for them. Can’t wait!!!! All of our neighbors have chickens. We have to protect from wild animals so I’m taking some time to get things ready before we just go out and buy chickens 😀

  6. That’s the truth! One of the wonderful things about chickens is how many different ways they can be raised and kept happy.

  7. You’re very welcome. We do not currently sell live animals, but many feed stores have pullets as well as chicks. We got our star pullet, Penelope, from a feed store in the area.

  8. Thank you! The henhouse in the video is actually a kit that can be ordered from our website. If you’re interested in plans check out the book “Chicken Coops: 45 Building Plans for Housing your Flock” by Judy Pangman.
