  1. beautiful job, but are there no load bearing issues. I mean how is the decking handling this weight? beautiful job man.

  2. You put the scratch coat on and let it cure over night before setting the stones. Thanks for watching, Craig Heffernan

  3. Oh I could just smell that wood being cut. Mmm. Can’t wait for spring. (Nope not yet here in the frozen north! We get to hibernate a bit longer)

  4. Funny you mention this. This year the customer had a grill area constructed next to this outdoor bar. It has a mini fridge, stainless grill & lower cabinets and also has the same stone and granite counter tops. It is right next to the bar and blends nicely. I will have to make a quick update video this spring and will post soon after. Thanks for watching, Craig Heffernan

  6. On this particular job the scratch coat is actually going vertical. There is no extra support for the stone no matter what direction the scratches are going. Bonding the stones to a scratch coat is more for withdraw power then sheer power. I hope this was helpful and thanks for watching.

  7. Can you explain why your scratch coat is diagonal rather than horizontal? Wouldn’t horizontal provide more overall grab and support?
