  1. i watched this b/c I knew about factory farming since middle school, and couldn’t bare through the whole film. I could barely sit through this one. There has to be a more powerful way to get companies to change their ways, and people to CARE about what they are eating. You are what you eat.

  2. Right, but if you do that, the local farmers will now become the big companies. Wanting to keep up with the demand it will force mass production strategies.
Also the main problem here is the unnecessary suffering of these animals. There is no going on around this argument. Suffering is an spectrum, there is not a line in that separates Aggressors and Sufferers. We are both at some level. However, If you do care about the suffering of these animals, vegetarianism is a good way to reduce it.

  4. Grow your own or find a small scale farmer near you…. period. No need to give up meat… just give up the big name companies.

  7. Because it’s the real price of meat. A real piece of organic meat is expensive because farmers put more care in it, but humans are not supposed to eat meat at every meal anyway. Our ancestors ate far more grains. You can balance with cheese or eggs instead if you need lipids, which, if correctly chosen, is healthier.

  8. I think I saw the same commercial and that man is swearing that they don’t use hormones or steroids and that his chickens are free range…I hope he’s not telling a lie because I was seriously considering buying his brand if I decide to buy chicken from the store. I pray he’s not making that claim and it’s not true.

  9. Either your trying a poor attempt at humor or just just plain foolish. This is more serious than you realize.Eating chicken that’s “raised” like this is like playing Russian Roulette.

  12. This is even more shocking because I saw a Perdue or Tyson commercial with a ‘farmer’ saying how natural and organic their animals are raised.

  13. Disgusting. It’s understood that people have to make a living, but this has gone too far. I don’t even like chickens and this is apalling. I can’t believe they just throw them in cages to be slaughtered like that. Do those people not have feelings? Where is their compassion?
