Most birds are not fond of this new addition when first introduced, so it is important to give them 15-20 minutes to get used to wearing a diaper. Common reactions include falling over, stumbling around or refusing to move at all. These are normal reactions. Distract them with some treats and give them some time and soon enough they will find their balance and go on business as usual. When putting on the diaper, sometimes the fit feels too tight or too loose. If you can comfortably slip a finger under the bow, the fit should not be too tight. If the diaper is slipping off the vent it might be a bit too large. If you bird is still growing, you can just pin the straps in front of the tail to make it a bit more snug.
