  1. Wow good job! But you don’t need the feather thingy. My dad and i just
plucked it. But I can see it is way faster especially if you have a lot of
chickens to kill. Anyways Nice video it was VERY helpful!!! Thank you!

  2. That was great! Thanks for taking the time to show us your process. I am
getting ready to do this for the first time and we are doing a turkey too!
I remember doing this as a kid on my grandpa’s farm but that was a lifetime
ago! And we younger kids did the plucking. Love the drum system! Going to
see if i can get one now! The cleaning part was very informative, As that
was the elder women’s part of the process i didn’t know how!! And I like
the way you do it so clean. Thanks! and Wish me luck!

  3. you should be proud of your video very, very, good I remember doing this
with my dad and a few times myself, your right most people think chicken
and beef just come warp in plastic and never walked around.——-good job!

  4. that is a very inefficient way to do it. Not only does the chicken suffer,
feeling the knife, causing the muscles to tense up – but it remains
conscious for quite some time. Although you are cutting the artery, by
hanging them upside down, blood is still going to the brain, allowing the
to remain conscious. THis results in a poor quality, tough, chicken.

  6. That is the best video I have seen from beginning to end on the net.
Awesome job and awesome camera work too. I will be processing my own in a
couple of months and the only thing that bugs me is the plucking. Not ready
to drop the cash for the commercial plucker just yet. I will have 12 to
process so I will get through it, but I think if I had 50 to process I
would make room in the budget for something automated. Great job again!

  7. I wonder what someone who buys their chicken alive from the market, when
they can afford it, thinks of these elaborate setups?

  8. Try killing the brain first then bleeding them out, its said to be more
humane, but who knows (the chicken). I like your set up.

  9. Careful heating the zinc galvanized can. The gas is toxic. Google “Health

  10. It was hard for me to watch the killing process. Thank you very much for an
informational video and preparing me for when I have to perform this task
    when I have to.
