How do you build one of those im new to this and im probably going to have one rooster and two or 3 hens what i need is the supplies and instructions this is the best chicken tractor ive seen and i really need one like in this video thanks dave
@dankimforde I used the 3×50 and basically wrapped it around the run. I used several pieces to cover the top. I cut 1″ notches out of the 2×4’s and used deck screws underneath for the 2×2’s that make up the run supports. Yes, the back end is about 1.5 feet. You just need to make sure it is low enough for the chickens to get out the coop door.
@dankimforde I don’t have any specific plans that I can give you (though I get so many requests, I am thinking about drawing some up)! I used 10 ft 2×4’s for the run part. The width of the run is 4 feet. The height is approximately 3 feet. The coop is 4 feet wide by 3 feet deep (excluding the nest box). I just used chicken wire from Home Depot. I bought 3×50, which was more than enough.
I have been looking for a chicken coop design and was going to build an A frame coop, but I love your design and would like to replicate it. If you have time could you give a break down of the material lengths, design, and any problems you came across like the wheels. If not I understand and thanks for the video.
I built the coop for under $100 using new materials from our local hardware store. The most expensive components were the chicken wire and the steel wheels. It could definitely be built for less using scrap materials.

@dankimforde You are right, they are 2×2’s, not 1×1’s.
@dankimforde
If you live near S. Florida or can figure out how to get it shipped up to you, I have an extra one you can buy (I built two).

Ok…thank you. Yours is the best design I’ve seen so far.
