  1. @SeenOnTvStore She can change her hair if SHE chooses, but you will always be stuck with your ugly character traits. Expressing your opinion on other’s physical characteristics when not asked to do so shows a total lack of class on your part. Go troll the Dances With Idiots sites.

  2. I was wondering if you trim these crates. I haven’t seen any crates like that. My husband and I have moved to Vermont a year ago and are ready to have some chickens, so I’m just looking for tips. Judy

  3. @zoltari Some hen’s love to set, some don’t. Sometimes the one’s that don’t like to set on eggs will lay them in someone else’s nest. Thats ok, she’ll set on them. But remove most of them. 4 or 5 eggs is ok, any more than that and you will work her to death. Take out the extra eggs and eat them. As far as how long this or that, she know’s what she is doing, just let her be. Raising chickens is fun!!! PS: Don’t name your chickens, children don’t like eating their pets.

  5. Nope, the chicken knows best. You will soon have plenty of peeps!
The eggs can stand up to 20 days sitting in the nest before she begins to sit. Once she sits and warms them fully, the game is on. They can take a few hours without her if the weather is moderate.

  6. How long can the hen be away from her eggs during hatching? I have a hen that is hatching eggs right now; she’s been sitting on them for about 4 days now and doesn’t move for almost the whole day, but at least once a day she gets up for about an hour. Is that too long away from the eggs?
