Socket Systems manufactures the metal joinery system called Lumber Link. This 3-16″ steel “socket”, joins 6″x 6″ rough-cut timbers or wood members, to create a clear span building frame. The standard Lumber Link kit can create a clear span area up to 30 feet wide. Extensions of 15 feet on each side will make the building 60 feet wide. The 6″ x8″ Hercules fixture can build clear spans up to 60 ft. wide with certain requirements. We also supply steel rafters with pre-welded purlin clips in a variety of pitches. Custom fixtures for cathedral ceilings alternative pitches and more, are no problem. Frames are assembled on the ground and raised into place using the foot locking system. No cranes or lifting equipment is needed and vertical supports are NOT set into cement, to eventually rot. Double your space with a second floor using a steel or wooden I-beam. This versatile building system can be erected by contractors or the do-it-yourselfer. Complete building plans are available for sale on the website. Architectural engineering services are available for simple or detailed projects. Lumber Link has been used to build pole barns, garages, additions, porches, carports, businesses, airplane hangers, commercial barns, storage facilities and homes since 1983. you can’t fool me chuck! i know its you, chuck NORRIS!!
I wonder if those lumber links are U.S. Building Code compliant?
holy shit chuck, i cant imagine i would have the same outcome if i made it my self!!
GO CHUCK!
Is Chuck’s last name Norris? Cause that is hardcore
no u know this guy wasn’t just a joe off the street he had construction experience and a lot of tools normal people don’t have like a tractor…what would this cost to have built I wonder ?
@TheCrackerbob – lol. As a carpenter myself, I have to say that Chuck is a fiercely independent genius.
I am a carpenter and I would only try this if chuck came with the kit.
Ass ***
Hahaha my ads he did all that hahaha
chuck is hardcore
Well much you spend on this building?
Well, chuck spent a lot of money for sure.
This is how I work. I HATE asking for help lol.. i’d sooner do the whole damn thing myself lol
@SocketSystems
Too much. I can have 2400 sf with a steelmaster bldg and self installed second floor for half that. Plus, it will have higher snow load and wind load.
Good luck with your product…
“Designed a remote controlled lifting system” – well that sounds so easy!
His last name must be Norris.
Impressive!
can I sub my buddy’s wife for the horse?
That Chuck is one crafty DUDE
I think you may have over sold the product:P its a nice product butt, i dont think the average joe have all the skill that, chuck sems to have stored inn his poket:P
This is not easy at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good question! Currently we do not. However if there is anyone seriously interested in doing this project, and can absorb some of the engineering cost we are more than capable of creating such a fixture. Geodesic domes are incredibly strong.
Do you guys make metal bracket system for geodesic construction ? A sturdy hub design is needed in the industry and geodesic buildings seem to be the the popular way to go now days.
@thouartjohnd Here a place with those dimensions the insulation alone is 3K.
He’s not just Chuck…He’s Super Chuck! Did all that by himself….one thing for sure, he hired the best help one can get because if you want anything done right, you do it yourself!! LOL
