[Instructor’s reply] You shouldn’t need to clip your chicken’s wings with a
6 foot fence. My backyard fence is 3 feet and I clip one wing for each hen
to keep them safe. I don’t want them injured by dogs walking past my house
or if they wander in a neighbor’s yard that has a dog. Clipping their wings
doesn’t hurt them at all. It’s the same as clipping our fingernails. I clip
their wings once a year. If you find they’re getting out of your tall
fence, clipping their wings would be necessary.
Do you have to clip their wings so they don’t fly over your fence? I have a
6′ stockade fence around my backyard but I am afraid they will fly over it.
Very nice
